Center for Interdisciplinary Spine/Keystone is one of the best physical rehabilitation programs out there, in my opinion. The team Dr. Shin put together are incredible. I found each of them caring, knowledgeable, and super passionate about their contribution to this very unique experience. Prior to the program, my life for two years was unrecognizable due to my injury. So, I was skeptical entering this program, but I was open to it, as well. Day one, I knew I was a part of something great. I looked forward to each day after that. Attending the Keystone program has helped me to acquired valuable tools and knowledge that has allowed me to regain control over my life again. I still live with chronic pain, but the relationship is different.

This is the most unprofessional And unethical practice l have ever worked with, l would give zero starts if l could, l was hired as a mid level provider to see pts after I left my very stable job at a very renowned hospital. I started working and on the third day of employment I was approached by the HR manager. He informed me that they would have to let me go because of disagreement between the managers. The reasoning was they were not getting the quantity of patients they were promised, which is an absolute lie as on the days that I was shadowing the other providers I could visibly see each provider had over 30 patients on their schedule and the main doctor was double booked with new pts on multiples slots. I was very emotional and distressed. I have never been in this situation before I left a very stable amazing job just to join a practice that has no idea about the revenue and the quantity and future of their patients. Dr. Shin was of course very chill and very relaxed about this as it is just a simple mistake that has happened he just informed me on the previous days that he was planning to expand to Stockton and now suddenly they didn’t even have patient for the Sacramento office. I’m sure he doesn’t have to worry about the house mortgage, the utilities and all other expenses any other person has. I was offered one week compensation for the mistake that happened. the HR manager wouldn’t even allow me to meet Dr. Shin for an explanation and was trying to throw me out of the office as soon as possible.
We are taking about a huge practice that claims has been successful for the past 30 plus years. Majority of the patients workmen’s Comp. patients are eventually signed up for functional restoration program, which rings enormous amount of money for the practice. Providers are scheduled every 15 minutes running from one office to another office as documentation for Workmen’s Comp. patients is complex and takes a while so they don’t have enough time to spend with each patient. Overall, my experience with this practice has been nothing but a stressful and devastating, I warn any mid-level provider from joining this practice before doing their absolute research. Environment of the office is very unorganized with piles of papers everywhere the management is very insufficient and there is the agreement between higher levels. I Reached out for more help, but I have not received a respond back, which basically means” We don’t care about what happened, we didn’t need you and got rid of you “. I wish I had done more research going into this mess and paid more attention to the reviews, but I did not and this is the result.
Finding it a job in this industry with many years of experience is absolutely Not an easy task, very easy easy for an employer to get rid of due to California laws. But there’s something called karma and I am sure it will get back to the practice and the owners for sure at some point That’s what I’m hoping for.

I have had 3 back surgeries and getting ready for lucky #4. Since I have got to the office Dr. Shin has been a Rockstar. The reports he writes are beyond descriptive in explaining reasoning behind his decisions. The staff has also been great. I have received calls while they're fighting for Me in regards to workmans comp. I've had nothing but problems with my workman's comp denial/approval process and there office has fixed them all. I couldn't be more Happy with the care from this office. Thank You Dr. Shin

I have only been going there a few months. My first impression was the waiting room felt like the DMV. Once called back I felt like I was walking in the basement of a hospital. The place is very cold.... it doesn’t have the warmth feeling like a normal doctors office. Once in the room you can hear everything being said from the rooms next door... so much for patient privacy. Every time I have been there I have seen someone new. I feel like I am having to start over each time. A couple weeks after my first appointment I received a call from another doctor, they wanted to schedule me for an injection. Dr Shin had not told me he was referring me for an injection. If he had discussed this with me I would have told him about my allergic reaction to one injection and a poor experience with another. At the moment I have been leaving messages for weeks trying to schedule a follow up appointment. It doesn’t matter what time of day you call or which extension you press you will never speak to any one, no one ever answers. I would not refer this place to anyone.

I came to Interventional Spine as a result of a work related injury. I had to have spinal surgery, a fusion in my neck. I had been needing a pain management doctor as my neck pain was not improving. Dr. Shin met with me for nearly an hour and discussed way he thought was best for me. Dr. Shin combines Eastern and Western medicine and wanted to try acupuncture and healing the mind and the body. I asked about a procedure involving an ablation of the nerve roots at three levels of my neck. He explained that he could do this procedure and I am currently waiting for the authorization. One month later I saw his p.a. and she was very patient and kind. The front desk receptionist and schedulers are very helpful and kind.
When i first arrived I was in so much pain that I'm sure I wasn't In the best of moods but one of the young ladies, who's name slips me, has such a smiling personality and is so very helpful I can't tell you how much I needed and appreciated that.
I'll update my review if there are any changes.

This is a great place if you want to get better from your injuries. I was in a major car accident 30 years ago. Didn't have any problems until about 15 years ago. Turns out I have a herniated disc (L5 & S1). I suffered for many years with sciatica. Previous doctors gave me injections on my back and prescribed me a lot of pain meds. My back did not get better. I have been seeing Dr. Shin for about 10 years now. I got an injection from him which helped me tremendously. In addition, Dr. Shin has given me a lot of information on rehabilitation. They have all the facilities you need from Pain Clinic, Rehabilitation Center to Acupuncture Clinic. Although my insurance doesn't cover, I still go see Dr. Shin for my back. I have been off pain meds for many years now and playing a lot of golf.

I would like to say that Dr. Brian Author Kim is an amazing Doctor and surgeon. After being inured on the job over 3 years ago and being in so much pain hardly being able to walk I was finally approved to have a procedure called Spinal Cord Stimulater which Dr. Kim did my surgery. I have never been more pleased with the doctor he is and such a caring person. He is like no other doctor I have meant he is more about caring for his patients not just for making money. Even after my surgery that day he called me at home in the evening to make sure I was doing ok He strives to for nothing more then perfection. There are so many wonderful things to say about him I could go on and on.

I am just so thankful to have him as my Doctor and Surgeon and blessed to have the procedure done and I can say after just 3 weeks I am still doing great.

If you need to wonderful and caring Doctor and Surgeon please take my word that Dr. Brian Author Kim is on doctor you need to use.

Thank you Dr. Kim

Dr. Shin is the first Doctor to help me with my pain after the 6 surgeries I had since my accident. He’s basically maintaining the chronic pain that will always be with me and I’m overjoyed that he accepted me as my injury is over 20 years old. He also referred me to Dr. Snook who helps with outpatient procedures that make the quality of my life exceptional.
