Hospitality at the Chestnut Inn was incredible - you felt welcomed upon entry into the establishment. The breakfast was plentiful and well presented. I found there was a smoke-like smell in the hallways and stairwells. The room was well maintained, however, a few items to note: the air conditioner was loud and there were bleach markings on the sheets/pillow cases. The top sheet and fitted sheet did not match. Check out was at 10:30 so we felt a little rushed during breakfast. We enjoyed our stay at the Chestnut Inn.

Un petit book aurait été plus judicieux. |Si le petit dejeuner est correct, l'attitude de la propriétaire est plutôt surprenant. Petit dejeuner à 9h , à 9h02 on frappe à notre porte pour nous dire de descendre de suite. A 9h30, alors que nous discutons avec les autres occupants on nous demande sans ménagement de quitter la salle et que les départs seront à 10h30 et non 11h. C'est la première fois que nous tombons sur un accueil de ce type.|Mais c'est Niagara et la demande doit être supérieure à l'offre. |

We had such a wonderful experience with our hostesses! The location was perfect because it was near all of the sights but, far enough away to have a peaceful stay. I love the older architecture and character. Go visit Robyn and Susan, eh? Cheers!

Robin and Sue were great! Very accommodating. Blue room tub is a little hard getting in and out of for 60+ year olds. Only disappointment was that the website pics show a pool but guests cannot use it. Don’t show pics of pool if it is not part of the amenities.

The property is scenic and spacious and located only a couple mins away from the main streets of Niagara Falls. There's also a bus stop right outside the property if you buy a we go pass ($13 for 24 hours - highly recommend). As for the room itself, it was nice but it seemed like the hosts selected for some cheap options which really downgraded the feel of the room. The fireplace didn't work, no shampoo was provided, and single-ply toilet paper. In my opinion, if you want people to come back for another stay when they are already paying a significant amount, spend a few extra dollars on small things. One of the owners also smoked a lot and must smoke inside of on a balcony as the room reeked of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was good and the bed was comfy, but you might find better accommodations elsewhere.

Lovely cozy room! Unfortunately, we didn’t have lots of time to enjoy this place as we were only passing by for the night. The community breakfast was extremely delicious with their house recipe for apple French toast. Everyone accommodating us was super sweet.

This place has so much in its favor - the property is beautiful with a WeGo bus stop right in front, breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and Robin, the onsite manager is a gem. Somehow, they manage to mess up on the easier things. For example - they do not provide shampoo - that's right NO SHAMPOO. We flew in and did not have a car so I had my choice of chasing down shampoo - and the nearest place to buy it is 15 minute walk each way, or wash my hair with soap. I took the latter and had filmy, yucky hair all day. I reported this to Robin and she said that the owner has relented and will carry shampoo in the future.

Our room was nice and seemed to have been recently redone. The hair dryer was a wall mount unit that was just sitting in on a shelf in the bathroom. While I could plug it in and use it, the motor dangled in mid air from the nozzle as I dried my hair. How difficult could it be to attach that thing to the wall?

Furthermore, they have a beautiful and inviting pool that is off limit to guests for insurance reasons - buy the insurance for crying out loud! Going on, there is a huge hanging fern directly in front of the entry door, placed so that one is attacked by the fern coming and going AND the chandelier in the dining area is strategically placed so that at least one diner is guaranteed to hit his or her head on it sitting down and standing up. Move the fern and adjust the chandelier! This place clearly has potential but I was left with the impression that the owners are either nitwits or have never visited the place themselves.

Comfortable place, nice rooms, good food. Would have been nice to have a working fireplace, working thermostat, and a few of the outlets had no power to them. Otherwise close to everything we wanted to get to.
