This is not the shiniest motel in the world. Rooms are small and cooled with a poor window air conditioner. The room was very small, but clean and neat and someone had taken time with the decorating. All rooms are upstairs, rather steep stairs. Bathroom tiny. We were there to visit Acadia and accomplished that objective but we didn't spend much time in this room.

Leona was very friendly and helpful. She had lots of brochures and information for the area and for Acadia park. The location was great - very close to the park. However, the rooms were very dated. There was a small little fridge in the room. But the bathroom and the bedding needed severe updates. This particular room had a window high up on the door - and an exterior light shone light into the room all night long.

Sort of small room but very cozy, clean and decorated. We stayed in a queen bed room for two. The staff was so polite and understanding. We called cuz we were stuck in traffic and couldn’t make the check in time. The woman we spoke to said no problem and we could just go into the room that night and check in next morning. Right outside Acadia National Park! Would defiantly stay again. Thank you staff of Leona’s! 🙂

We booked a room through Orbitz for an overnight in July. It appeared that there were only 2 rooms left and we were pleased to get one. However, when we arrived at the hotel and started towards the office, the owner yelled across from here adjacent house "What are you doing here? You can"t stay here." We told her that we had reservations. She said those were cancelled. They had not been cancelled. She was not at all apologetic or helpful in referring us elsewhere. Apparently she has not even opened her establishment for the season. It's almost the end of July in Maine in a very popular vacation area. We were unable to find lodging in this vacinity for the night. If she is not open, she should not list her hotel as having available rooms.

I originally booked with Acadia Sunrise but due to a booking mishap they had to cancel my reservation and I got stuck with Leona's. It was one of the worst motels I've ever stayed at. The first night I couldn't sleep because of some constant banging that turned out to be a couple lanterns hung right outside my window and banging in the wind to the extent that they made gashes the paneling. You'd think the owners would know better. When I complained about it the next day, the owner said I should have called her, assuming that I knew what the noise was - I assumed it was just the overall crappiness of the motel falling apart in the rain. Other things: the wifi hardly worked, there was no shampoo provided, the water pressure was very low, killed 3 mosquitos within minutes of arrival.

Clean, inexpensive, good mattress, good hot water, friendly owner works hard to please, close to Acadia. I stayed in one of the rooms that were not remodeled. The rooms are small, can hear through the walls, not many tv channels, there was a problem with the wi-fi, hard to adjust shower it goes from cold to hot and hard to get warm, rooms are on second story so you must climb stairs, there is noise from the airport and road, the outside light shines in the door window had to cover the window with a towel. Good for a night or two, but not your first choice for a long visit to Acadia.

We made a reservation on expedia. On the website, it was mentioned that the motel was pet friendly. When we arrived, the owner started to yell at us right away; when she saw our dog, no greetings. Very weird behaviour obviously! She said that it is a no pet hotel and we have to leave right away. It was a very busy 3 days week end so we tried to negotiate and keep the room. She was very rude and impolite and finally rented our room to somebody else just in front of us!! End of discussion: we were forced to leave. Somebody like this should never work in contact customers. Very bad image for the motel.

I would not recommend this motel to anyone. Rude customer service and poorly managed facility. Upon checking in, the manager was rude right off the bat. She questioned that we had a total of 5 people (3 adults, 1 teenager and 1 infant). I said yes. The woman proceeded to threaten me that she was going to be charging for an extra person since her policy is only 4 to a room. I told her that I didn't think my infant qualified as an adult, let alone there wasn't an option to add children to the booking. She proceeded to be rude and say we needed to get rid of one person. To stop this woman from being rude, we took the teenager down the road to our other family members at their motel to stay since we didn't want to be charged. On top of this inconvenience, our room was disgusting. The smell was enough to make you gag. We suffered through. Then at 2:30 am the window ac started making a loud noise and sparks were coming out! We unplugged it and had no air until we checked out. Then the thin shear curtains let the sun shine right in bright and early to wake us up which we didn't want. Then checking out, there was no one around in the office and at this point I threw the keys on the table and left. I highly recommend going elsewhere like Open Hearth Inn which us right down the road. The price I paid for this horrible place was definitely not worth it and I wish I would have gone somewhere else.
