Spent a really wonderful week here as a couple, working remotely on the weekdays and exploring the island using this house as a base on the weekend. Snorkling on my lunch break only 15 mins walk away was super awesome! A few things let down the experience however... I got quite poor sleep overall.
Negatives :
Pillows were awful - cheap and nasty filling. I felt like I was resting my head on shredded plastic bags.
Noisy, dirty air conditioners - I lost alot of sleep due to the creaking, moaning and popping of the air conditioner in the bedroom. It was a cheap one, a brand I never heard of, and when I opened it to investigate the noise, the inside was full of dust, looks like it's never cleaned or serviced.
No washlet on the toilet - Come on, it's Japan, why no washlet? Another corner cut.
Dead ants - The house was pretty clean apart from this. It is better than live insects of course, but no effort was made to remove the hundreds of dead ants and other insects from around most of the door frames and windows, and that gave us a bad impression.
Positives :
Location - Walking distance from the aquarium, Emerald beach and most importantly Bisezaki Kaigan, which is one of the best snorkling spots in Okinawa. We enjoyed many times going here.
Service - When we arrived there was an issue with the hot water. When we called the management they were so nice, polite and helpful to us. No issues there!
Facilities - Great living room and kitchen. Everything you need for every day life and cooking, literally nothing was missing. There was even soy sauce and vinegar.
View - It was a great feeling to open the living room window each morning and see Ie Island. Also the sunset was unbelievable from the living room too, since it faces west!
I would stay here again if they made it as comfortable to sleep as it is to live.
